Novi Lazi (German: Hinterberg) is a settlement to the east of Kočevska Reka in the Kočevje municipality in southern Slovenia. It was a village settled by Gottschee Germans. During the Second World War its original population was expelled. The area is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola and is now included in the Southeast Slovenia statistical region.[2]
The local church, dedicated to Saint George, is first mentioned in written documents dating to 1526. It was demolished in 1955.[3]
